After a lot of rain some of the mud balls placed at the beginning of the month have transformed:
17th May
in Eichendorffstrasse, two kernels have split in the shelter of these buildings
in the Körnerstrasse too some of the bean seeds have opened and opted for a state of unrest, of growing, of being alive. At some of the locations, there has been no visible change, at others the ball has gone. Maybe seeds have been picked out and eaten by squirrels and need to wait for another season.
The most surprising development has been in the Park:
In summary: the seed ball at Ursulaplatz is unchanged, the one at Ebertplatz shows tiny seedlings coming up underneath; at Mediapark I think the rabbits have helped themselves; the seed ball at the duckpond at Erftstrasse is still there but shows no signs of transformation; next is the seedball at the park, illustrated above, by far the most successful so far; the seed ball at the Mosque has vanished, one of the bean seedlings at Körnerstrasse is thriving, two others are competing for space; the seed ball at the Subbelrather Strasse outside Rewe has not changed at all, the same applies for the seed ball put outside the Jewish Community Centre. I forgot to check up the seed ball on the tramline Nußbaumer Strasse und the seedlings you see in the photo at the top of this entry, were no longer visible on my last visit(?)
